Before taking mexiletine, tell your doctor if you have

* any other type of heart disease or heart problem,

* liver disease, or

* seizures or epilepsy.

* upset stomach, heartburn, vomiting, or decreased appetite;

* diarrhea or constipation;

* headache or blurred vision;

* weakness;

* numbness, tingling, or tremor (shaking);

* ringing in your ears;

* a rash; or

* depression.

Before taking mexiletine, tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:
